Camp Farthest Out is a grant recipient of the Baltimore City Youth Fund to implement The Family Ties Initiative (FTI). FTI builds upon Strengthening Families Program, a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) evidence-based program. FTI will foster networking, peer-to-peer learning, and skills building in youth and family-centered spaces. The purpose of CFO FTI is to provide family-centered training that will improve parenting skills, family relationships, social competencies, professional development, and personal resilience that reduces delinquency. FTI is aligned with the first priorities, specifically supporting youth-centered family strengthening and multi-generational initiatives. FTI will conduct 13 sessions that include training, workshops, field trips, family team building exercises, and social engagement. The Program will offer 15 youth, ages 6-18 educational and recreational experiences that will foster networking, peer-to-peer learning, and skills building in youth and family-centered spaces.
Our next session will begin on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 through until Tuesday, April 28, 2020. The program meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
